Have you ever said, "I'm not constipated, I go every
day and I don't need colon cleansing"?
Gastrointestinal disorders abound. More people are admitted to hospitals
with digestive complaints than any other malady .Although it seems "nicer" to
speak of digestive disorders than bowel disorders, we must not forget that
the gastrointestinal tract is but a single system from the mouth to the anus
and includes the stomach and the bowel.
Despite daily eliminations, many people are not aware that they may have a
bowel problem. Very often, the complete length of the colon is impacted with
old, hardened facial material, leaving only a narrow channel for smaller, softer
faeces to pass through. Failure to cleanse the colon is like having the entire
rubbish collecting system go on strike for months on end!
If wastes in the body is allowed to build up they will decay and absorb through
the walls of the colon into the bloodstream. Constipation also increases the
workload of the other excretory organs- the skin, the kidneys,the lymphatic
system, and the lungs. These other organs become hyperactive, overworked, and
eventually worn out. These toxins can poison the brain and nervous system so
that you become depressed, irritable, weak and listless; poison the lungs and
your breath smells foul; poison the digestive system so you feel distressed
and bloated; poison the blood so that your skin is sallow and unhealthy. In
short, every organ is affected and you look and feel old, have stiff and painful
joints, dull eyes, and sluggish thinking. Finally you lose the joy of living.
As Dr. Wager wrote about the Law of Disease:
Disease is a warning. It is a friend, not
foe, of mankind.
It manifests itself in its various forms, from a slight cold
to the more severe inflammations for the sole purpose of
ridding the body of accumulated poisons.
CAUSES OF CONSTIPATION
* Too little liquid
* Too little bulk
* Too little exercise
* Parasites
* Yeast overgrowth (candida)
* Emotional tension
* Mechanical problems, e.g., prolapsed colon
* Poor choice of foods
* Improper combination of foods
* Weak muscles of the colon
* Inherited weaknesses
CONSTIPATING FOOD AND DRINKS
* Cheese
* Fried foods
* Sweets and sugar products
* White flour
* Salt
* Salted snacks (crisps etc.)
* Beef
* Canned, fermented or processed foods
* Heavy, hard shelled or cellulose foods, such as tops of vegetables or legumes
* Pasteurised milk
* Wine with meals
* Carbonated drinks
* Coffee (has a drying effect on the colon)
If you are consuming these foods and drinks, your colon cannot
possibly be healthy, even if you are having a bowel movement every
day. Instead of furnishing nourishment to the nerves, muscle cells
and tissues of the walls of the colon, such substances can actually
cause starvation of the colon. A starved colon may let a lot of faecal
matter pass through it, but it is unable to carry on the last stages
of digestion.
In order to be healthy, the body must be nourished properly.The colon produces
a coat of mucus to protect itself from junk foods, pasteurised milk, preservatives,
chemicals and other pollutants. In tim, this mucous coating can get as thick
and hard as plastic. You can spend a fortune on vitamins, herbs and organic
foods, but the mucous coating prevents proper absorption of nutrients into
your bloodstream .Colonic hydrotherapy does much to remove the excess mucous
and eliminate the toxic buildup from lining the walls of the colon.
